為了打造出全台第一座「有機生態校園」，本校校園不再噴灑農藥及除草劑，除採用友善環境之方法維護校園景觀，促進校園生態多樣性及環境永續發展，並持續規劃校園裸露地之植被作業，遵循「適地適種」原則，規劃漸以臺灣原生種類植栽作為校內選植首要考量。

校園內也不使用毒餌滅鼠，而且為了避免高階的肉食性動物誤食中毒，在多年努力下，黑天鵝、鳳頭蒼鷹、黑冠麻鷺等家族在校園繁衍後代，保育動物和人建立大自然的和諧關係。
事實上，最近連可愛的貓頭鷹、松鼠都大量出現在校園，本校以農學院起家擁有生態系完整，校內最具特色的中興湖有白鵝、綠頭鴨、番鴨悠遊，校園儼然是座動物大觀園。
本校座落位置緊鄰綠川、旱溪、綠園道，與周遭環境自然融合，形成藍綠帶交會環境空間，營造優良的棲地環境，吸引周邊藍綠帶的生物自然移入，促進生物多樣性，除了向學生及社會大眾傳達保育、永續的理念，並承擔大學教育及社會教育的責任。

In order to create the first "organic ecological campus" in Taiwan, our school no longer sprays pesticides and herbicides on campus. In addition to using environmentally friendly methods to maintain the campus landscape, promote campus ecological diversity and environmental sustainability, and continue to plan vegetation operations on bare land on campus. Following the principle of "suitable land for suitable plants", the planning gradually uses Taiwan's native species as the primary consideration for on-campus planting.
Poison bait is not used to kill rats on campus. In order to prevent higher-level carnivorous animals from accidentally eating the bait and being poisoned, after years of hard work, families such as black swans, crested goshawks, and black-crowned egrets have been breeding on campus to conserve animals and humans and establish a harmonious relationship with nature.
In fact, even cute owls and squirrels have recently appeared in large numbers on campus. Our school started out as an agricultural college and has a complete ecosystem. The most distinctive Zhongxing Lake on campus is where white geese, mallards, and Muscovy ducks swim around. The campus is like an animal park.
Our school is located close to Green River, Dry Creek, and Green Parkway, and blends naturally with the surrounding environment to form an environmental space where blue and green belts intersect, creating an excellent habitat environment, attracting the natural migration of organisms from the surrounding blue and green belts, and promoting biodiversity. In addition to conveying the concepts of conservation and sustainability to students and the general public, we also assume the responsibility of university education and social education.
